The Crimea case and the Russia understanders in the Western democracies

It’s always surprising how many people in the Western democracies fall for the propaganda of totalitarian governments – and admire those countries while condemning their own governments for the shortcomings those have. They compare apples to oranges without seeing that they do so.

AFM moet stoppen met schnelschieten en marktinmenging / AFM premature on no cure no pay

2012 - 5 things I am grateful for

5 things I am grateful for – something going back to Steve Seibold and not surprisingly popular amongst AIESEC-ers. Sometimes I like doing it – not as a daily routine, but so now and then. Followed by the start of the new year. Man made definition - because the earth accidently needs 365 days and a bit to go around the sun. But who cares

For me this period is a time for reflection - looking back but also forward. Step a side and take a break from daily routine - quiet days, days to slow down. Days as well to enjoy the time with people that are dear to me and use the time to reflect on the year past and to do things that are often skipped – because we think to be too busy for those things, there is no time at the moment.

Freedom day

Today the Netherlands is celebrating liberation day. Originally a day to celebrate the liberation from the German occupation at the end of World War II this day is now a day to celebrate freedom - Freedom day!

A day to remember that freedom is not given. What a great day to have - a day to celebrate freedom and to realise that is important to protect it and to fight for it.
